Hayley N Jones

Hayley lives in East Devon and has a Creative Writing MA from the University of Exeter.

She joined Exeter Writers a few months after winning the Devon Prize in our 2016 short story competition. She was also a finalist in the Aesthetica 2017 Creative Writing Award with the same story, Things I Have Wasted Money On.

She finds it difficult to define her writing, but her stories seem to fall into the broad category of “weird stuff”! This often involves exploring unusual events within mundane worlds, including the possibility of supernatural forces. Hayley’s short stories have been published in Confingo, the Aesthetica Creative Writing Annual and Toasted Cheese.

Currently a part-time Psychology student, Hayley blogs about mental health and life in general, drawing on her personal experiences of chronic mental illness. She also spends a large proportion of her time dealing with two boisterous springer spaniels.
