Sheaf Poetry Festival November 2020.

News of The Sheaf Poetry Festival arrived in my in box last night.

Beginning tomorrow evening, Thursday 19th November, The Sheaf Poetry Festival kicks off with launch of the annual anthology from the MA Creative Writing Department of Sheffield Hallam Universtiy. It features the work from students, alumni and visiting writers. 

It starts at 6.30pm and is free to attend.

Sheaf Festival will be delivered online over a long weekend of digital events and workshops via YouTube Premiere.

The main Programme unfolds on Saturday and Sunday with the odd evening event on the other days. The themes for the festival are wellbeing, mental health and the environment. With a variety of poets hosting over the weekend.

Poet-in-Residence Genevieve Carver will be delivering a workshop on writing for Wellbeing and Meditation on Saturday at 10am asking attendees to focus mind for mindful creativity.

For our younger followers, the festival also has a Young Poet-in-Residence, Lauren Hollingsworth Smith. You can catch her and other young poets at 1-2pm on Saturday at the Hive South Yorkshire Poetry Showcase.

You do need to book onto to all workshops and events individually for the links to attend them. All the events are free, however there is a standard workshop fee of £15 for some. Donations are welcomed.
