The Short List
The Short List!
The wait has come to an end!
The shortlist is here.
Congratulations to all those writers who have made it to the shortlist. The
competition was fierce. All those writers who made it to the long list, or
even were brave enough to put their writing out into the big wide world and
enter our competition in the first place, should feel proud.
Most of the
stories we received were well-written, and enjoyable reads; the ones who made
it had that extra sparkle that caught the eyes' of our members.
The judging will take place mid-June and the winners will be
announced shortly afterwards.
Well done everyone, and good luck with the next round. We
will be choosing first, second and third place as well as the best Devon entry
from the remaining shortlisted entries that qualify.
In no particular order, the short-listed stories are:
Wave after Wave
The Nimrod Variation
The Real Thing
Demolition
The End
The Woman in Pieces
Home Schooling
The Balance of Things
Seeing Mrs Hickmott
The Entertainer
Me Foot is a Foot is a
Foot
A notable mention goes to long-listed story, Anesu and Andrei by Tristan Marajh. This
is a fantastic story and worthy of a place on the shortlist, but unfortunately,
it has been withdrawn due to publication elsewhere after our competition date
ended.
Well done, Tristan on your
success.
